What You Can Get
Most yards need this twice a year, and the two visits are not the same job. Tell us which one you are booking and roughly what state the yard is in, and we will quote it from there.
Why homeowners choose Elias
The pile does not stay
Bagged or taken away
A clean-up that ends in a heap behind the garage is half a clean-up. Where municipal collection will take the volume we bag it for the curb, and where it will not, it leaves on our truck. Either way it is settled in the quote.

Yard Clean-Ups FAQs
Useful details to review before you price the work.
Once the ground has firmed up and before growth starts. Going in while the soil is still soft tears up the lawn, and going in late means clearing debris out of new growth instead of off bare ground.
Yes. Bagging it and leaving it at the curb is the default, since municipal collection handles it in most of the towns we work in. Where the volume is past what collection will take, we remove it instead. We confirm which it will be when we quote.
Volume, mostly. Lawn care keeps a yard where it already is, so the work is predictable visit to visit. A clean-up moves a yard from one state to another, and how much material comes off it is the thing that sets the price.
Yes, it is just a bigger one, and it is worth saying so when you request a quote. A yard that has been left for two seasons has a different amount of material in it than one that was done last fall, and we would rather price that accurately than turn up short-handed.
We work across York Region, ON: Richmond Hill, Markham, Vaughan, Thornhill, Aurora, Newmarket, Maple, King City, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Bolton, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Mississauga, Bradford, Whitchurch-Stouffville, Woodbridge, Kleinburg, Barrie, Innisfil.
What York Region, ON homeowners ask about yard clean-ups
The amount of material coming off the property, more than the size of the yard. Tree cover is the biggest single factor, followed by how long it has been since the last one.
Usually, on a treed lot, because leaf volume is greater than what winter leaves behind. On an open property with little canopy the two tend to be closer.
Where the volume fits inside municipal collection we bag it for the curb, which is the cheaper finish. Past that it goes on the truck, and we tell you which applies when we quote rather than at the end.
Yard clean-ups across York Region, ON
Two visits a year covers most properties here, and the two are timed by the ground rather than the calendar. Spring waits for the soil to firm up, which in a cold year can be several weeks later than people expect. Fall waits for the bulk of the leaves to be down, which means the window is narrow and it closes when the first real freeze arrives.
Tree cover is what changes the size of the job across the region. An established street in Richmond Hill or Thornhill with mature maples over the road produces a fall volume that a newer Vaughan or Bradford subdivision simply does not, and the same two hours of work clears very different amounts on the two properties.

Why the volume is the price
Clean-ups get quoted against the yard rather than the hour because the amount of material is the whole job. Two properties of the same size can differ by a factor of three depending on how many trees overhang them and when the yard was last done.
That is also why it helps to say up front how long it has been. A yard left for two seasons is not a longer version of a yard done last fall; it is a different job, with cut-back work in it that a routine clean-up does not include.
What happens to the material
Most towns we work in run yard-waste collection on a set schedule, and where the volume fits inside what collection will take, bagging it for the curb is the cheapest way to finish the job. We time the visit to the collection day where we can.
Past that volume the material goes on the truck instead. It is worth agreeing which one applies before the work starts, because discovering it at the end is how a finished yard ends up with a pile behind the garage for a fortnight.
